The Solution
As an example, we could provide daily health checks on your application servers, logging in each day to carry out these tasks:
- Ensure that all overnight SQL Server maintenance jobs have run successfully. If any have failed, we will inform you and may recommend appropriate action (for example, if a backup has failed we will recommend that a manual backup is made).
- Check the error log and report any problems found. If these are critical database issues (for example, corrupted indexes) they will be fixed straight away. For other issues, we will liaise with the customer to determine whether further action is required.
- Check the general server health (disk space, memory usage) and report any concerns.
Business Benefit
At the end of each week a report including details of all checks, any problems and corrective action, can be provided to the customer. Regular meetings also help to make sure we are meeting your requirements.
