Sami Saoudi and Nigel Moffat, of MMCC Consultants, visited Ousedale School in Newport Pagnell to advise sixth form students aspiring to make it in the computer software industry.
Sami spent an hour giving a presentation to students studying a new computing course run by the school. He said, “I felt it was important to speak to the up and coming IT candidates and give them some awareness of ‘real world’ IT business activity and processes to help them in their search for a job. They are the future of a business where the only real product is the people and getting the right people is crucial.”
Sami spoke about the Technology standards and processes within the software development and their value within the commercial world. He also discussed MMCC’s interactive working methods and the importance of working with a client to achieve the best result possible and how the students can adapt themselves to fit in with different roles within a software company.
Nigel spent an hour giving a presentation to students, about Network Infrastructure within MMCC, Nigel also then went on to speak about the work experience that one of the Students Sam Scotney has gained working for MMCC over the Christmas and February Holidays.
Nigel explained during Sam time at MMCC he has learned about the following; setup within MMCC, how to set up Virtualisation, System Administration, Microsoft active directory structure and how this is utilised within an organisation, PC and Laptop configuration, basic networking technologies and theories and database management.
